Service Delivery
Senior Field Service Technician
Hybrid or On Site Full-time 5-7 years
Apply for this Position Position Overview
You will handle the site work others cannot — first installations of a new device type, faults that survived two previous visits, and sites where the environment is as much the problem as the equipment. You will also set how field work is done here: the procedures, the acceptance checks, and the technicians who follow them.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead complex and first-of-type installations, including commissioning at a new customer site.
- Resolve escalated field faults where the cause spans hardware, network, and application.
- Write and maintain the installation, maintenance, and acceptance procedures the team works from.
- Define the tooling, spares profile, and test equipment the field team carries.
- Mentor technicians on site — technique, safety, diagnosis, and conduct in front of a customer.
- Run field trials of new hardware or firmware and report findings to engineering and delivery.
- Investigate repeat failures across sites and identify the pattern behind them.
- Support delivery and pre-sales with site surveys and installation feasibility assessments.
Skills & Qualifications
- 5-7 years in field service on electronic or embedded equipment, including escalated faults.
- Deep diagnostic skill across hardware, power, cabling, and network layers.
- Experience commissioning equipment at a customer site under operational constraints.
- Able to author a procedure others can follow without you in the room.
- A record of mentoring technicians and holding a quality standard on site.
- Valid driving licence and readiness for travel, including multi-day site work.
- Degree or vocational qualification in electronics, electrical engineering, or mechatronics.
Nice to Have
- Smart-card, payment terminal, or secure hardware experience.
- Familiarity with firmware update and device provisioning workflows.
- Experience shaping hardware acceptance criteria with an engineering team.
- Health and safety or electrical competence certification.
What You'll Gain
- Competitive salary.
- Hybrid and on-site working — customer sites where the work is, with office and remote time around them.
- Annual learning budget for books, courses, and conferences.
- Top-tier hardware and software tooling.
- Private health insurance and flexible time off.
