Cookie Policy

Last updated: October 9, 2026

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file saved in your browser when you visit a website. This policy also covers browser storage (localStorage) and the measurement scripts a page loads, because the same rules apply to them.

This site is run by Byte Gurus Teknoloji A.Ş. Our contact details are at the end of this page.

Where things stand today

No analytics or marketing tool loads on this site right now, so the cookie banner and the Cookie settings link at the bottom of the page do not appear either. The analytics and marketing sections below describe the rules that will apply once we turn those tools on. When we do, we will change the date on this page and ask for your choice on your first visit.

In short

  • Necessary cookies make the site work and do not depend on your permission.
  • Analytics and marketing cookies stay off until you turn them on. None of them loads when you first arrive.
  • On the first screen, “Accept all” and “Reject all” carry the same weight. “Manage choices” lets you decide category by category.
  • You can change your choice at any time from Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. When you turn a category off, we delete its cookies and reload the page.
  • Your choice is kept for 6 months, then we ask again. If the tools we use change, we ask again before that.

Necessary cookies and storage

The site does not work without these, so they do not depend on your permission. All of them are first-party: only bytegurus.io reads them.

Name Type Purpose Duration
bg_consent Cookie Remembers your cookie choice and a random choice ID 6 months
lang-choice Cookie Remembers your answer to the language suggestion so we do not ask again 1 year
theme localStorage Remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme Until you clear it
admin_session, admin_oidc_* Cookie Keeps staff signed in to the admin panel, which only company employees use 12 hours (sign-in steps 10 minutes)

Nothing records sessions on the admin panel, the contact form or the job application pages; analytics and marketing tools never load on the admin panel.

Google Maps

The map on the contact page does not load until you click it. When you click, the map loads from Google; Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies. You can read our address on the page and open directions in a new tab without loading the map.

Form protection (Cloudflare Turnstile)

We use Cloudflare Turnstile to protect the contact and job application forms from bots. Turnstile collects technical signals such as your IP address and browser details on the page with the form. Cloudflare states that it uses these signals to tell people from bots.

Analytics cookies (with your permission)

We use these to see which pages are read and where visitors get stuck.

Tool Provider What it does Cookies it sets
Google Analytics 4 Google Counts page views and visit length _ga, _ga_* (up to 2 years)
Microsoft Clarity Microsoft Shows clicks and scrolling as heatmaps and session replays _clck (1 year), _clsk (1 day), CLID, MUID

Clarity masks anything typed into a form and does not record it. Clarity does not run at all on the contact and job application pages.

Marketing cookies (with your permission)

We use these to measure how many visitors our ads bring to the site.

Tool Provider What it does Cookies it sets
Meta pixel Meta Platforms Measures visits that come from Meta ads _fbp, _fbc (up to 3 months)
TikTok pixel TikTok Measures visits that come from TikTok ads _ttp (up to 13 months)

We run Google tools with Google Consent Mode (version 2). Every permission starts as “denied”. Turning on analytics grants analytics storage only; turning on marketing grants ad storage only. No Google tag loads before you choose.

How your choice is recorded

When you save a choice, we keep a record so we can show that you gave permission: the choice ID (the random value in the bg_consent cookie), the date and time, the policy version, which categories you turned on, whether you chose on the first screen or in the settings window, and the page language. We do not store your IP address or browser details in this record.

Browser settings

You can also view, delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block necessary cookies, the language suggestion and your cookie choice will not be remembered. To turn off Google Analytics on every site, you can use Google’s opt-out browser add-on.

Changes

If the tools we use change, we update this policy and the date at the top of the page, and we ask for your cookie choice again.
