Software Engineering Intern, Automated QA
Remote Internship 0 years
Apply for this Position Position Overview
This internship is for a student or recent graduate who wants to learn test automation as an engineering discipline rather than a tool. You will start by reading and running existing suites, then write your own cases under review.
Key Responsibilities
- Run existing automated suites and work out whether a failure is a real defect or a flaky test.
- Write straightforward UI and API test cases inside an existing framework, with a mentor reviewing each one.
- Keep test data and selectors tidy so tests do not break for cosmetic reasons.
- Report and reproduce the defects your test runs uncover.
- Watch how automated tests are wired into GitHub Actions and where they gate a merge.
- Document what each suite covers so the team can see where the gaps are.
Skills & Qualifications
- Currently studying or recently graduated in computer engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- Basic programming ability in JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or C#.
- Understanding of what an HTTP request and a JSON response are.
- Familiarity with Git and the idea of branches and pull requests.
- Patience for detail: automation rewards people who read failure output carefully.
Nice to Have
- Any exposure to a browser automation tool such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
- A personal project with tests you wrote yourself.
- Curiosity about why tests fail intermittently.
- English good enough to read technical documentation comfortably.
