We're looking for a junior test automation engineer who wants to write test code to the same standard as production code. You will extend existing automated suites and learn why a suite people trust is worth more than a suite with big coverage numbers.
Key Responsibilities
- Write and maintain automated UI and API test cases within the team's existing framework.
- Investigate failing runs and separate real defects from flaky tests.
- Keep locators, fixtures, and test data stable so tests fail for real reasons only.
- Extend API-level coverage against REST endpoints, including negative and authorization cases.
- Keep suites running in GitHub Actions and flag when a run is blocking a merge.
- Raise the defects your automation finds, with the failing run attached.
- Act on review feedback on test code the same way you would on production code.
Skills & Qualifications
- 0-2 years of test automation experience, or strong project work if you are just starting.
- Working programming ability in TypeScript, Python, C#, or Java.
- Hands-on use of a browser automation framework such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
- Understanding of HTTP, REST, and status codes well enough to test an API directly.
- Familiarity with Git-based workflows and pull requests.
- The instinct to investigate a flaky test rather than re-run it until it passes.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to CI pipelines and to how tests gate a merge.
- Basic SQL for setting up and verifying test data.
- Any experience with mobile test automation.
- Interest in performance or load testing.
