We're looking for a junior backend engineer at the start of their career who wants to learn how production services are built properly. You will take well-defined tasks through to completion with support from senior engineers and steady code review.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement well-defined backend features in .NET / C# within an existing architecture.
- Build and extend REST endpoints, following the conventions the team has already set.
- Write queries and Entity Framework migrations against PostgreSQL and check their impact before merging.
- Write unit and integration tests for the code you ship.
- Fix defects: reproduce, isolate the cause, fix, and add the test that would have caught it.
- Act on code review feedback and use it to sharpen the next change rather than repeating the same note.
- Keep tickets and technical notes current so the team knows where things stand.
Skills & Qualifications
- 0-2 years of professional backend experience, or strong project work if you are just starting.
- Solid grounding in an object-oriented language, ideally C#.
- Working SQL and an understanding of relational modelling.
- Understanding of HTTP, REST, and how an API contract is meant to behave.
- Familiarity with Git-based workflows and pull requests.
- Willingness to learn from review rather than defend the first draft.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to Docker or containerized local development.
- Any experience with Redis, Kafka, or another message broker.
- Experience with automated tests in a real project rather than an exercise.
- Interest in Clean Architecture and domain modelling.
