This internship is for a student or recent graduate who wants to see how a feature travels from the database to the screen. You will work on both sides of small features under close supervision, learning where the seams are and why they matter.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement small features that touch both a Next.js interface and its API, guided by a mentor.
- Follow an existing request through the stack, from the UI call to the database query, and explain what it does.
- Add fields and endpoints to existing APIs and consume them from the interface.
- Write basic tests on both sides of the stack for the code you contribute.
- Reproduce bugs and work out which layer they actually live in.
- Keep your pull requests small and explain your reasoning in the description.
Skills & Qualifications
- Currently studying or recently graduated in computer engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- Basic JavaScript or TypeScript plus one backend language such as C#, Node.js, or Python.
- Understanding of what HTTP requests, status codes, and JSON payloads are.
- Basic SQL and familiarity with relational data.
- Familiarity with Git and the idea of branches and pull requests.
Nice to Have
- A personal project where you wrote both the interface and its backend.
- Exposure to React or Next.js.
- Exposure to Docker or any containerized development setup.
- English good enough to read technical documentation comfortably.
