This internship is for a student or recent graduate who wants to learn backend engineering on real services rather than tutorials. You will work alongside experienced engineers on well-scoped tasks, with pairing and code review at every step.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement small, well-scoped backend features in .NET / C# under the guidance of a mentor.
- Write unit tests for the code you contribute and learn what makes a test worth keeping.
- Read and query PostgreSQL schemas to understand how domain data is modelled.
- Reproduce reported bugs, narrow them down, and propose a fix for review.
- Take part in code reviews as an observer first, then as a reviewer of small changes.
- Document what you build so the next person can pick it up.
Skills & Qualifications
- Currently studying or recently graduated in computer engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of an object-oriented language such as C# or Java.
- Basic SQL: you can write a join and read a query plan with help.
- Familiarity with Git and the idea of branches and pull requests.
- Comfortable asking questions early instead of getting stuck quietly.
Nice to Have
- A personal or university project with a REST API you built yourself.
- Exposure to Docker or any containerized development setup.
- Coursework or reading in databases, networking, or distributed systems.
- English good enough to read technical documentation comfortably.
