Position Overview

We're looking for an Android engineer who owns features end to end on a shipping app. You will make architectural calls inside the app, care about how it behaves on real devices rather than a top-end emulator, and answer for the crash rate of what you ship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own Android features end to end: structure, implementation, tests, and release.
  • Build screens and flows in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose within an MVVM structure.
  • Manage asynchronous work with coroutines and Flow, including cancellation and lifecycle edges.
  • Integrate REST and gRPC APIs and handle offline, retry, and error paths deliberately.
  • Keep the app fast: startup time, dropped frames, memory, and download size.
  • Write unit tests for view models and instrumentation tests for the critical flows.
  • Maintain Gradle configuration, product flavours, and release variants.
  • Prepare and support Play Store releases, then watch crash and ANR reports afterwards.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of professional Android development in Kotlin.
  • Strong Jetpack Compose skills plus enough View-system knowledge to maintain older screens.
  • Solid grasp of coroutines, Flow, and structured concurrency.
  • Experience with MVVM or a comparable architecture and with dependency injection.
  • Comfortable with Gradle beyond copying snippets from an answer online.
  • Experience diagnosing crashes and ANRs from production reports.
  • Understanding of Android permissions, background execution limits, and battery constraints.

Nice to Have

  • Experience publishing and staging releases on Google Play.
  • Exposure to Flutter or Kotlin Multiplatform.
  • Familiarity with the profiling tools in Android Studio.
  • Experience with in-app payments or identity flows.

What You'll Gain

  • Competitive salary.
  • Fully remote — work from wherever you're most productive.
  • Annual learning budget for books, courses, and conferences.
  • Top-tier hardware and software tooling.
  • Private health insurance and flexible time off.
