Senior Software Engineer, Backend

We're looking for a senior backend engineer who designs and builds scalable services powering mission-critical products. You will own backend architecture decisions, mentor mid-level engineers, and collaborate with product, frontend, and DevOps to ship reliably at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend services using .NET 10 and C#, following DDD and Clean Architecture principles.
- Build and maintain REST and GraphQL APIs with a focus on performance, security, and observability.
- Design microservices and event-driven flows using Kafka and RabbitMQ.
- Model domain data in PostgreSQL; optimize queries, indexes, and caching with Redis.
- Collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and Kubernetes deployments.
- Write meaningful unit and integration tests; review PRs with care and empathy.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through pairing, design reviews, and knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and technical roadmap.
Skills & Qualifications
- 5-7 years of professional backend experience, ideally with .NET / C#.
- Strong grasp of DDD, Clean Architecture, CQRS, and the Repository / Unit of Work patterns.
- Production experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, and at least one message broker (Kafka or RabbitMQ).
- Comfortable with Docker and Kubernetes in a production setting.
- Experience designing and operating REST APIs; GraphQL is a plus.
- Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, structured logging, and metrics-driven debugging.
- Clear written and verbal communication; able to write technical design docs.
Nice to Have
- Experience with .NET Aspire, MediatR, or similar orchestration/CQRS libraries.
- Prior work on high-throughput video, payment, or fintech systems.
- Contributions to open-source projects.
- Experience coaching or leading a small team.
