Position Overview

We're looking for a senior Android engineer who owns how the app is built, not only what goes into it. You will set the architecture, hold the quality bar on real devices, and mentor the engineers working alongside you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the app's architecture: module structure, navigation, dependency injection, and state management.
  • Set Compose conventions and the migration strategy for the remaining View-system screens.
  • Own build and release engineering: Gradle configuration, flavours, signing, and Play Store rollout.
  • Define the app's performance targets - startup, jank, memory, size - and hold them across releases.
  • Design offline, sync, and error-handling behaviour for unreliable networks.
  • Set the testing strategy across unit, screenshot, and instrumentation layers.
  • Mentor mid-level and junior Android engineers through pairing and design review.
  • Represent Android constraints in product and API design discussions before decisions are locked.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of professional Android development with deep Kotlin experience.
  • Expert Jetpack Compose, plus the View-system knowledge to maintain and migrate legacy screens.
  • Strong command of coroutines, Flow, and concurrency edge cases.
  • Experience designing multi-module Android applications.
  • Deep Gradle knowledge, including build time and dependency management.
  • A track record of diagnosing production crashes, ANRs, and performance regressions.
  • Clear written communication; able to write technical design docs.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform or Flutter.
  • Experience with staged rollouts and release health monitoring on Google Play.
  • Work on payments, identity, or media-heavy Android applications.
  • Contributions to open-source Android projects.

What You'll Gain

  • Competitive salary.
  • Fully remote — work from wherever you're most productive.
  • Annual learning budget for books, courses, and conferences.
  • Top-tier hardware and software tooling.
  • Private health insurance and flexible time off.
