Senior Data Scientist

We are looking for a senior data scientist to lead the modelling and measurement work where the method itself is the hard part. You will design measurement for situations a clean A/B test cannot reach, review other people's analyses for validity, and be trusted to say when a model is the wrong answer.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the highest-stakes modelling and experimentation work, choosing the method and defending it in review.
- Design measurement for initiatives where a clean randomized test is not possible.
- Set the standards for how the team evaluates models and reports results, including negative ones.
- Review other people's analyses for statistical validity before they reach a decision maker.
- Say when a model is not the answer, and propose the simpler thing that is.
- Work with ML engineering on what it actually takes to ship, monitor, and retrain what you built.
- Mentor junior and mid-level scientists on framing, method, and communication.
- Write the analysis up so the reasoning survives your absence.
Skills & Qualifications
- 5-7 years of applied data science experience.
- Deep applied statistics and practical causal inference.
- Expert Python data science stack, with production-quality code habits.
- Experimentation experience beyond running a simple two-arm test.
- Strong SQL and enough warehouse modelling literacy to work with data engineers as peers.
- A track record of analyses that changed a decision or a product.
- Mentoring experience and the ability to write an analysis document that holds up to scrutiny.
Nice to Have
- Bayesian modelling or probabilistic programming.
- Deep learning applied where the problem genuinely needs it.
- Client-facing consulting experience under time pressure.
- Domain depth in pricing, risk, demand, or another quantitative business area.
