Artificial Intelligence Program Manager
Remote Full-time 7+ years Bachelor's Degree
Apply for this Position Position Overview
We are looking for an AI program manager to run a portfolio of AI initiatives across teams — deciding what starts, holding what ships to a real evidence bar, and keeping the whole thing inside a budget. You will manage people as well as programmes, and you will need enough technical literacy to read an evaluation report and know what it is not saying.
Key Responsibilities
- Own delivery of the AI programme: the portfolio of initiatives, their sequencing, dependencies, and commitments.
- Run intake and prioritization — decide which initiatives start, which wait, and which stop.
- Manage the people on your programme: one-to-ones, growth, performance, and hiring.
- Hold teams to the release gates: evaluation evidence, guardrails, and a rollback plan before launch.
- Track budget and inference cost across initiatives and raise overruns before they become surprises.
- Manage risk and compliance work — data boundaries, approvals, documentation, and audit readiness.
- Coordinate across engineering, data, product, and client-facing teams, and clear the dependencies that stall work.
- Report programme status, risk, and outcomes to leadership without varnish.
Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years delivering technical programmes, including direct people management.
- Enough technical literacy on AI systems to challenge a plan and read an evaluation report critically.
- Portfolio-level planning across parallel teams and hard dependencies.
- Hiring and performance management experience.
- Budget tracking and accountability for cost.
- Risk and compliance management for data-sensitive work.
- Direct, precise written communication with executives and engineers alike.
Nice to Have
- A prior engineering or data science background.
- Running an AI governance or review forum.
- Multi-client programme delivery in a consulting setting.
- Vendor and cloud contract management.
What You'll Gain
- Competitive salary.
- Fully remote — work from wherever you're most productive.
- Annual learning budget for books, courses, and conferences.
- Top-tier hardware and software tooling.
- Private health insurance and flexible time off.
