Senior Artificial Intelligence Engineer

We are looking for a senior AI engineer to design applied AI systems and own how their quality is judged. You will decide between retrieval, fine-tuning and plain code, set what blocks a release, and be the person who can tell whether a bad answer came from the prompt, the context, or the retrieval.
Key Responsibilities
- Design applied AI systems end to end and defend the trade-offs — retrieval, fine-tuning, or deterministic logic.
- Own the evaluation strategy: what good means, how it is measured, and what blocks a release.
- Build the shared infrastructure others build features on — evaluation harnesses, retrieval services, tracing, and prompt versioning.
- Set guardrail and safety standards, including prompt injection review and data boundary review.
- Diagnose quality problems to their real source: retrieval, context assembly, prompt, or model choice.
- Manage cost and latency at system level through routing, caching, batching, and context budgets.
- Mentor engineers and review AI feature designs before they are built rather than after.
- Work with product to state clearly what a model-backed feature can and cannot promise.
Skills & Qualifications
- 5-7 years of software engineering, with substantial time shipping AI features to production.
- Expert Python and strong distributed services engineering.
- Deep retrieval engineering with relevance that is measured rather than assumed.
- Evaluation design including human review protocols and regression gating.
- Security-aware design for model-backed systems.
- Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, and real observability in production.
- The ability to write a design document and mentor others through building from it.

- Fine-tuning, distillation, or serving self-hosted models.
- Multi-agent or long-running workflow systems.
- Integrating AI into an existing .NET or Go service estate.
- Contributions to open-source AI tooling.
