Natural Language Processing Engineer

Remote Full-time 2-5 years Bachelor's Degree
Apply for this Position

Position Overview

We are looking for an NLP engineer to own a language capability end to end — extraction, classification, search relevance, or summarization. Much of the work is deciding what correct means for messy real text, building the evaluation set that proves it, and knowing when a rules layer beats a model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own a language capability end to end: extraction, classification, search relevance, or summarization.
  • Build text data pipelines: collection, deduplication, cleaning, labelling, and versioning.
  • Fine-tune and evaluate transformer models, and recognise when a deterministic rules layer does the job better.
  • Build retrieval components — chunking, embeddings, a vector store such as pgvector, and reranking.
  • Design evaluation sets that reflect real inputs, including messy Turkish text and mixed-language documents.
  • Ship language components as services with explicit latency and cost budgets.
  • Track quality in production: real inputs, failure cases, and regressions after a model change.
  • Work with product and domain experts to define what correct actually means for the task.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 2-5 years building NLP systems.
  • Strong Python, with PyTorch and Hugging Face used on real work rather than tutorials.
  • Practical fine-tuning and evaluation of transformer models.
  • Retrieval engineering: embeddings, vector search, chunking strategy, and reranking.
  • Text data engineering — deduplication, normalization, and labelling workflows.
  • Docker and deploying a model behind a service interface.
  • The discipline to build your own evaluation set rather than trusting a public benchmark.

Nice to Have

  • Turkish morphological processing and language-specific preprocessing.
  • Information extraction from documents, including layout-aware or OCR-adjacent work.
  • Speech-to-text pipelines.
  • Serving optimization for transformer inference.

What You'll Gain

  • Competitive salary.
  • Fully remote — work from wherever you're most productive.
  • Annual learning budget for books, courses, and conferences.
  • Top-tier hardware and software tooling.
  • Private health insurance and flexible time off.
