Position Overview

We're looking for a QA lead to own quality for a product line and the testers working on it. You will define how quality is measured, decide what ships, and grow the people in your workstream.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the QA workstream: strategy, coverage, staffing, and release readiness.
  • Define quality standards and entry and exit criteria across the product line.
  • Own the release decision and communicate residual risk plainly to product and client stakeholders.
  • Set the balance between manual, exploratory, and automated testing, and revisit it as the product changes.
  • Run escaped-defect analysis and turn the causes into changes in how the team works.
  • Grow QA engineers through one-to-ones, feedback, and deliberate work assignment.
  • Embed quality earlier by getting testers into refinement, design review, and API design.
  • Report quality metrics that inform decisions rather than decorate a slide.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 7-10 years in software quality, including leading a QA team.
  • Proven ability to define a test strategy across multiple products or teams.
  • Strong API and data-level testing skills alongside UI testing.
  • Experience deciding release readiness under commercial pressure and defending the call.
  • Enough technical depth to review automated tests and challenge what they actually cover.
  • Experience giving direct feedback and helping testers improve on the back of it.
  • Clear communication with product, engineering leads, and client stakeholders.

Nice to Have

  • Experience hiring and onboarding QA engineers.
  • Background in a regulated or payments domain.
  • Experience introducing test automation into a mostly manual team.
  • Familiarity with performance, security, or accessibility testing programmes.

What You'll Gain

  • Competitive salary.
  • Fully remote — work from wherever you're most productive.
  • Annual learning budget for books, courses, and conferences.
  • Top-tier hardware and software tooling.
  • Private health insurance and flexible time off.
