We are looking for a lead BI analyst to own a reporting workstream and the people in it. You are accountable for the numbers leadership sees — their correctness, their freshness, and the cost of producing them — while coaching the analysts who produce them.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a BI workstream: roadmap, staffing, sequencing, and the delivery commitments attached to it.
- Own the reporting platform commitments for your area — refresh timeliness, availability, and correctness.
- Coach and grow the BI analysts on your workstream, including their review and certification practice.
- Prioritize the backlog against business value and retire reporting that no longer earns its running cost.
- Own the certification gate: nothing reaches leadership without a named owner and a reconciliation.
- Stay hands-on for the hardest models and the incidents nobody else can unpick.
- Agree shared contracts and priorities with data engineering and analytics leads.
- Run stakeholder forums, manage expectations, and explain trade-offs in terms the business understands.
Skills & Qualifications
- 7-10 years in business intelligence, including leading a BI team or workstream.
- Expert semantic modelling plus real operational experience running a reporting platform.
- A track record of delivering reporting that a large group of people genuinely depends on.
- Ability to plan across several analysts, dependencies, and fixed reporting deadlines.
- Coaching and direct feedback experience with analysts.
- Ownership of governance in practice: definitions, access, lineage, and certification.
- Stakeholder management up to executive level, including saying no with a reason.
