Junior Data Analyst

Remote Full-time 0-2 years Bachelor's Degree
Apply for this Position

Position Overview

We are looking for a junior data analyst who is genuinely curious about what the numbers mean. You will write SQL against curated reporting tables, build and maintain dashboards, and turn well-scoped business questions into answers a stakeholder can act on — with a senior analyst reviewing your work and helping you sharpen it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write and refine SQL queries against curated warehouse tables to answer scoped business questions.
  • Build and maintain dashboards in a BI tool, keeping definitions and filters consistent with existing reports.
  • Run the recurring weekly and monthly reporting cycles, and flag anomalies you cannot explain.
  • Document every metric you produce: source table, filter logic, and known caveats.
  • Reconcile your numbers against a second source before sharing them, and walk a reviewer through your logic.
  • Support stakeholders with ad-hoc data pulls, clarifying the question before writing the query.
  • Learn the business domain behind each dataset — what a single row actually represents.
  • Apply review feedback from senior analysts to how you structure queries, not just to the output.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 0-2 years in an analytical role, or a strong internship and portfolio of analysis work.
  • Comfortable with SQL: joins, aggregation, window functions, and CTEs.
  • Working knowledge of a BI tool such as Power BI, Looker Studio, or Metabase.
  • Basic statistics — mean versus median, distribution shape, and when a difference is not meaningful.
  • Spreadsheet fluency for quick modelling and cross-checking.
  • Able to explain a chart in plain language to someone outside the data team.
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, or equivalent practical grounding.

Nice to Have

  • Python with pandas for analysis SQL does not handle comfortably.
  • Exposure to dbt or version-controlled analytics code.
  • Experience with product or funnel analytics.
  • Comfort writing analysis summaries in English for distributed teams.

What You'll Gain

  • Competitive salary.
  • Fully remote — work from wherever you're most productive.
  • Annual learning budget for books, courses, and conferences.
  • Top-tier hardware and software tooling.
  • Private health insurance and flexible time off.
