Apply for this Position Position Overview
We are looking for a data scientist to own a problem from framing to follow-through. You will decide whether the question is answerable, design the measurement, build the model when a model is warranted, and say so plainly when it is not.
Key Responsibilities
- Own a problem end to end: framing, data, method, model, readout, and what happened afterwards.
- Design and analyze experiments — power, assignment, guardrail metrics, and honest interpretation.
- Build predictive and forecasting models where they change a decision, and skip them where they would not.
- Quantify uncertainty and say what evidence would change your conclusion.
- Build and validate features from warehouse data together with data engineering.
- Hand models to ML engineering with the evaluation, assumptions, and known failure modes written down.
- Challenge the objective when the metric being optimized is the wrong one.
- Present to stakeholders with a recommendation and a clear account of the risk in taking it.
Skills & Qualifications
- 2-5 years of applied data science experience.
- Strong applied statistics: inference, experiment design, regression, and resampling methods.
- The Python data science stack used on real problems, with code others can run.
- SQL against large tables without needing an analyst to prepare the data.
- Model evaluation discipline — appropriate metrics, honest baselines, and leakage awareness.
- The ability to translate a business problem into a modelling problem, and back again.
- Communication of statistical results to people who do not think in distributions.
Nice to Have
- Causal inference: difference-in-differences, instrumental variables, propensity or uplift modelling.
- Forecasting at scale with seasonality and hierarchical structure.
- Bayesian methods where they genuinely fit the problem.
- Experience working with ML engineers to get a model into production.
What You'll Gain
- Competitive salary.
- Fully remote — work from wherever you're most productive.
- Annual learning budget for books, courses, and conferences.
- Top-tier hardware and software tooling.
- Private health insurance and flexible time off.
