We are looking for a data analyst to own analytics for a business domain end to end. You will take vague questions from stakeholders, decide what would actually answer them, build the queries and reports that get there, and come back with a recommendation rather than a spreadsheet.
Key Responsibilities
- Own analytics for a business domain end to end — from the question through the query to the recommendation.
- Turn ambiguous stakeholder requests into a defined question, a method, and a measurable answer.
- Design and maintain the dashboards that domain runs on, and retire the ones nobody opens.
- Define and document metrics: the canonical definition, the edge cases, and the reason for each filter.
- Investigate discrepancies between reports and trace them to the model or the upstream data issue behind them.
- Partner with data engineers on the tables your analysis depends on — what is missing, wrong, or should be materialized.
- Present findings with a clear recommendation and an honest statement of what you are unsure about.
- Review queries and dashboards from junior analysts before they reach a stakeholder.
Skills & Qualifications
- 2-5 years of professional analytics experience.
- Strong SQL, including window functions and performance-conscious queries against large tables.
- Practical use of a BI tool for modelling and dashboard design, not only for consuming reports.
- Python with pandas for cohorting, cleaning, and analysis beyond SQL.
- Applied statistics: sampling, significance, seasonality, and correlation versus causation.
- A track record of analysis that changed a decision, not just described a situation.
- Written communication a non-technical stakeholder can act on without a meeting.
Nice to Have
- dbt experience and a git-based analytics workflow.
- Experience designing and reading out A/B tests.
- Familiarity with product analytics tooling and event schema design.
- Reporting for mixed Turkish and English stakeholder audiences.
